The Canadian Donkey &
Mule Association (CDMA) is a
not-for-profit organization established
to preserve, protect, and promote
donkeys and mules in Canada.
Founded in 1976, the CDMA is the only
organization sanctioned under the Animal
Pedigree Act (1988) to operate the
Registry for donkeys and mules in
Canada.
The CDMA publishes a quarterly
newsletter, The Canadian Donkey and
Mule News, for its members.

Objectives: To improve
the quality of donkeys and mules in
Canada through careful and responsible
breeding programs.
To encourage the appreciation and use of
donkeys and mules in equestrian
activities.
To promote education in the various arts
and sciences associated with keeping and
using donkeys and mules.
To prevent cruelty to the donkey and
mule, and to support those groups and
individuals involved in their
protection.
North American donkeys and mules are
involved in a wide range of equestrian
activities:
trail or
pleasure riding pleasure
driving combined
driving parades
and displays farm
and ranch work packing dressage endurance
and competitive trail riding gymkhana
and western games cutting
and reining riding
and driving for the disabled
