2008 Show Report

In 2008 TheDonkeyShowSite was created to offer a place to provide information to donkey show enthusiasts about show dates, show results, and much more. Many miniature donkey owners spend lots of time & money & effort in the process of showing their donkeys. TheDonkeyShowSite documents all of this hard work by entering all NMDA show results in to a database so that in the future all donkeys’ NMDA show data can be tracked & followed as time goes on.

 In 2008 there were

16 NMDA sanctioned shows

464 individual miniature donkeys shown

2,751 total entries

Figuring conservatively, at $10 per class, a total of $27,510 was spent just for entries.

An estimated $10,000 more for stalls, another $7,000 for office fees, totals to the amount to $45,000. This number does not include shavings, hotel rooms, & miscellaneous expenses.

Hidden costs such as all the time show planners and managers who donate their time & talents for free are impossible to evaluate, but suffice to say that without these generous people, the shows would not go on. 

And this was just for NMDA sanctioned shows!

These numbers show that the amount of money transferred into local clubs and economies alone speaks to the importance of showing the miniature donkey.

THE DONKEY SHOW SITE is the only place in the donkey world in which show results are entered into a database and kept perpetually.  Our goal is to provide one central location where donkey enthusiasts can find anything and everything about showing donkeys.  This site is dedicated to all the owners and exhibitors who take the time and effort to show their donkeys.
